Salary Range: According to the USD 261 Negotiated Agreement

 

Job Summary:

The Jumpstart Administrator provides leadership and oversight for the 4–5-week summer program, ensuring a safe, positive, and effective learning environment for students and staff. This role includes using data for planning, implementing, and evaluating academic and enrichment activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Valid Kansas Administrative licensure appropriate for the specific grade levels.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership to the summer school staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and support personnel.
  2. Implement district-approved curriculum and instructional strategies.
  3. Manage daily operations of the summer school program, including schedules, attendance, and discipline.
  4. Recruit, hire, and supervise summer school staff.
  5. Facilitate orientation and training for all staff members.
  6. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
  7. Oversee behavior management practices and implement positive interventions as needed.
  8. Monitor student progress and communicate with parents/guardians regarding academic performance and attendance.
  9. Collaborate with district leaders to align summer school goals with district objectives.
  10. Develop and manage the summer school budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  11. Coordinate transportation, meal services, and facility needs.
  12. Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff, parents, and district leaders.
  13. Promote the summer school program and engage families to support student participation.
  14. Address and resolve parent concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  15. Collect and analyze data on student attendance, engagement, and outcomes.
  16. Prepare a final report summarizing program achievements and areas for improvement.
  17. Engage in regular self-reflection and seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
  18. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
