Job Description
Title: Speech Clinician
Reports To: Building Principal/Director of Special Education
Supervises: Assigned students/staff members
Evaluation: As per Negotiated Agreement
Job Summary:
Provide specialized instruction and services for students who have disorders of language and speech.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree and advanced study in language and speech handicapped.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide screening services for students.
- Provide language assessment services for students referred to the Individualized
Educational Planning Team.
- Assists the Individualized Educational Planning Team in designing an individualized
plan for students who are identified as having language and speech deficits.
- Identify and provide special materials and instructional models pertinent to individual
needs.
- Consults with staff, parents, and outside agencies relating to individual students as
required.
- Provide inservice training for staff as needed.
- Refer students who appear to need further evaluation to the Individualized Educational
Planning Team.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all administrators, special education staff, support
staff and other agencies for the best interest of each student.
- Other duties as assigned.
